Functional Alcohol Alternatives

Discover the Spiritual Benefits of Switching to Functional Alcohol Alternatives

Those who know me know I love a party, if you left one of my brunch parties back in Copenhagen before midnight, I would considered it to be a failure of an event (it would need to be at least a 12 hour party)… so I don’t think anyone would have guessed that I would be cutting out alcohol almost entirely this year. I can’t lie, it hasn’t been very long since I’ve completely cut it out (my new year focus is around health) but I naturally was able to cut back (a task made very easy thanks to Three Spirits). I expected it would be difficult, but it hasn’t been at all!

I’ve already attended an open bar wedding and various events where drinking is usually expected (of course I’ve had to deal with the questions why I’m not drinking and sales pitches to just have one). But enough patting myself on the back, back to why it’s become so easy.

  1. Prioritising my mind body connection (which you can strengthen through meditation)

  2. I’m just obsessed with hydration so why would I drink something that dehydrates me (hello glowing skin)

  3. I am prioritising my health: I love myself so why would I do anything that isn’t healthy for me

  4. Functional alcohol alternatives like ThreeSpirits

ThreeSpirits made it a very easy switch! I was amazed when I tried them as you still get the social buzz and lively feeling alcohol brings without the feeling of losing control. So hopefully after reading this you will think twice about pressuring your friend who has decided to cut back or cut out drinking to have a drink - (I know I’ve definitely been guilty of this in the past…)

Benefits of ThreeSpirits:

1. Mindful Consumption: enjoy social gatherings without the need for alcohol, supporting a more mindful and intentional approach to drinking. You get a “buzz” without that drunk feeling and no hangover!
2. Natural Ingredients: Made with natural ingredients and botanical extracts, ThreeSpirits doesn’t use artificial additives and excessive sugars commonly found in traditional alcoholic beverages. They blend adaptogens, nootropics, herbs, distillates and ferments which can uplift your mood, relax you, and wake you up.
3. Healthier Lifestyle: reduce your alcohol consumption, which can lead to improved sleep quality, enhanced mental clarity, and better overall well-being. No more missed yoga classes or suffering through in chair pose with a hangover!
4.Social Enjoyment: Whether at a party, dinner, or social event, ThreeSpirits enables you to participate in the drinking culture without the negative physical and mental consequences associated with alcohol. Social events end up being even more enjoyable because you never wake up with that feeling of dread the next day, or wondering where all your belongings are. Lucky for me, I was in Copenhagen for most of my party days or I’d be missing A LOT of belongings after nights out… There everything seems to make it back to you.

Anyways…

Here are some of my favourite combinations:

Livener + Perfect Ted Matcha Pear and Ginger

Social Elixir + MUJU Immunity shot

Nightcap + Ice

Some other optoins I opt for are:

  • Herbal teas, such as chamomile or valerian root, for a calming and relaxing evening wind-down. This has become part of my usual bed time routine!

  • Mock-tails made with fresh juices, herbs, and sparkling water for a flavourful and refreshing drink and hydrating drink

  • Trip CBD drinks

  • Functional mushroom powders with warm nut milk

While the occasional drink can certainly be enjoyed (enter natural wine), exploring functional alcohol alternatives has provided me with an enhanced well-being and a better mind body connection. Switching out alcohol for these healthier options can help you feel more energised, balanced, and focused for your yoga practice and connected to your soul. Stay mindful of your consumption and explore the wide world of functional beverages – your body and mind will thank you for it!
Namaste.
